Mike, you’re amazing! “You’re not working today Corey, relax and have a beer.”. He’s right, I’m not shooting this wedding “officially” so what do I do? I get out my vintage 1970′s Canon AE-1, find a few roles of 36, ISO 800 and do what I love doing. Thanks Mike!

When shooting is this fun and rewarding it can hardly be called work. Courtney is all smiles after getting her chores done and spending a sunny afternoon at the zoo.

Sabiha & Adnan : Sana’s 1st hair cut.

They say the first (hair) cut is the deepest and it’s true, it’s a very traumatic and scary day. Sana was a trooper and braved the ordeal, with a little help of some magic bubbles. Don’t worry Sana, it only gets easier after this. Thanks to Renee and the rest of the awesome staff at Beaners Fun Cuts on Northland Drive.

Kim & Gavin : Wedding in Turner Valley

Kim and Gavin decided to get married in Turner Valley under blue skies that stretch all the way to the Rocky Mountains. This beautifully organized fairytale wedding was complete with huge white castles from Grassland Tipi and a white horse drawn carriage from First Class Carriages. The food was amazing, the ceremony beautiful and the band was fantastic. Congratulations to you both!

Kim & Gavin : Engagement in Turner Valley

Kim and Gavin have it figured out! While in the middle of major reno’s, working full time and finishing a degree, they’re planning a beautiful outdoor wedding. It makes me dizzy just thinking about it.

Heading south of Calgary to Turner Valley early Sunday morning to meet up with Kim and Gavin was easy. Asking them to walk around outside all morning in the barely +5 degree wind seemed cruel and unusual. Of course they were awesome sports about it, cracking smiles between the teeth chattering (mine mostly). We ended the shoot where it began, next to the still frozen lake before running back to the cabin to thaw.

You were both so great to work with and I’m really looking forward to your wedding day. Thanks and congratulations!!

PS Don’t forget to call me when it’s branding time again… I love playing cowboy!

Lisa & Pascal : Engagement in Calgary

What happens when a sexy urbanite meets french cowboy? A beautiful engagement of course! Lisa and Pascal are that carefree and open to anything couple every photographer loves to work with. After exploring the back 40 with Soukha and Sniper and jumping a few fences we found ourselves in the beautiful south ranch lands of Calgary with the mountains to the west and the city scape to the north. Thanks again Jason for his help on the shoot. Thanks Lisa and Pascal, it was a joy spending the day with you! PS Thanks for the pizza! :-)

With the BC mountains in the background and Jericho beach at your feet Brock House is truly a beautiful place to get married. We all had a great time meeting Martin’s family from England and friends arriving from all over the UK. Welcome back to Canada Lisa, after four years away your family is so happy to have you home again. Your ceremony, reception, and even the Vancouver weather was absolutely amazing. After a quick breakfast planning session at Melriches on Davie street we toured around Vancouver’s West End. Martin’s guitar planing is amazing and brings a smile to everyone’s face epically Lisa’s. After just a very short time with them, their ease in front of the camera made them a joy to photograph and it really showed. We ended with an hour photo shoot down on on Jericho beach before they sped away in that fun little ‘cabrio. Looking forward to the wedding!

Sarah & Joey : A beautiful Maritime wedding

A relaxing but full day with Sarah and Joey. After spending most of the morning with the bride and bride’s maids while they got ready I then bounced over to meet up with the grooms men who were relaxing with a few local brews. The ceremony was at the beautiful sea side Calvin United Church in Lawerencetown. A champion limo ride to the Dartmouth Commons park filled with blooming flowers over looking the Halifax skyline then back all the way to Eastern Passage for a night of dancing, wine and great home made food! An amazing wedding, an amazing couple. Congratulations Sarah and Joey!
